MEASURING GUIDE

How to measure foam for your cushions

Getting the size right is the most important step. Here's how to measure the most common cushion shapes. Measure in inches. Not sure? Bring the old cushion or its cover to our shop.

THE BASICS

Three measurements

Almost every piece of foam comes down to three numbers. Write them in this order: thickness × width × length.

  1. Thickness How tall the foam is.
  2. Width Side to side, across the front.
  3. Length Front to back (also called depth).

Any other shape

Boat, RV and odd-shaped cushions are easiest with a paper template. For boats and patios, ask for our outdoor and marine-grade foam.

  1. Lay paper or cardboard on the seat and trace the outline.
  2. Mark which edge is the front.
  3. Write the thickness on it and bring it to the shop.
